Bottling Memories

I wish that I could bottle the feeling that a parent gets when they are rocking their child to sleep, and then they pop their head up as if they are getting comfy but you realize as they press their lips to yours that they just wanted a kiss. That little person, that little baby, wanted in their mind and in their heart, a kiss from you.

At such a tiny age, how can they even comprehend the desire for a kiss, for the warmth and love that a kiss possesses. It literally blows my mind.

And then, just when you think they are raising their head for one more sweet night-night kiss, they bury their nose into your shoulder and RUB RUB RUB the itchies out of their nose onto your shoulder.

Thanks kid...for everything!
